The Ruston community is invited to celebrate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally recognized commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, on June 17, 2023. A day of fun, fellowship, and reflection on this historic occasion is planned for everyone to enjoy.
The Juneteenth event will feature award-winning artists Pastor Mike Jr., James Fortune, and Kelontae Gavin, along with vendors showcasing delicious foods, arts and crafts, and a popular Kids' Zone.
The celebration of Black culture and history is an important event for everyone to attend. The event will take place at Railroad Park, and tickets are just $5.
Real Change in Ruston is a holistic approach to real community development. The City of Ruston, in partnership with the Zion Traveler Community Development Corporation (Zion Traveler CDC), has developed a program to create real change for families in an often-overlooked part of the community.
