This exhibition features the art of Elizabeth Blackwelder, a beloved Ruston artist who worked primarily in watercolor and sometimes in oils, acrylics, and printmaking. Born in Ruston on January 19, 1935, she was blessed with many artistic talents, including visual art and music. She received a BA rom Louisiana Tech and an MA from LSU. She worked as a classroom teacher for 10 years teaching kindergarten and first grade. She married Oran Drexel Blackwelder, and they had two children. NCLAC is grateful to her son, Philip Blackwelder, and her daughter, Teresa Grace Blackwelder for donating a portion of her art estate to NCLAC after her death. More information on the artist and purchasing is available online at www.nclac-gallery.squarespace.com. Proceeds from sales will go to NCLAC's programs and operation.
