Are you and your family gearing up for a youth sports tournament in Ruston? Whether you're cheering on your little athlete or exploring the town between games, Ruston has something for everyone to enjoy. From outdoor adventures to delicious dining options, this lively community has it all. Let’s dive into your ultimate sports traveler guide!

Attractions:

1. North Louisiana Military Museum: Immerse yourself in the rich military history of North Louisiana at this fascinating museum. Explore exhibits featuring artifacts and weaponry that have been curated by veterans to provide an educational and engaging experience for the whole family. Be sure to walk around outside to see tanks, planes, and more machinery! Saturday hours are 10:00am-4:00pm.

2. Lincoln Parish Park: Need some fresh air and outdoor fun? Head to Lincoln Parish Park for a day of recreation. Enjoy scenic walking trails, fishing ponds, playgrounds, and picnic areas, perfect for some pre- or post-game relaxation.

3. Public Art: Ruston is home to a thriving arts culture. There are murals throughout town painted by artists in partnership with the Ruston Cultural District. Be sure to also keep your eye out for all of the bulldog statues around town that are each uniquely painted by awarded artists, and post lots of pictures with the hashtag #bulldogproject.

Dining: 

1. Log Cabin: Indulge in a diverse menu at Log Cabin, celebrated for its steaks, Tex-Mex delights, and mesquite-grilled specialties. From BBQ to seafood, salads, and sandwiches, there's something for everyone. Be sure to stop in The Market for take-and-bake options, fresh meats, and seasonings.

2. The Dawg House Sports Grill: Refuel after a day of cheering with a delicious meal at Dawg House. From juicy burgers to crispy onion rings, this family-friendly restaurant offers a wide range of options to satisfy every appetite. As a bonus, you can watch your favorite sports games on their tvs!

3.  Ponchatoulas: Treat yourself to a delicious dining experience with New Orleans-style cuisine with a twist on traditional seafood dishes. This local favorite is the perfect spot for a celebratory dinner after a successful tournament.

3. Shopping at Downtown Ruston: While the kiddos are at the ballpark, explore the charming streets of Downtown Ruston and discover a variety of boutiques, galleries, and specialty shops. From unique gifts to stylish apparel, you'll find plenty of treasures to take home as souvenirs of your trip. Be sure to stop by the Ruston Farmers Market on Saturday from 9:00am-1:00pm
