5 Places for Craft Beer in Ruston

March 1, 2022Written by: Maggie Dinkins

As the popularity of craft beer has increased, Ruston has been quick to adopt the culture that is craft beer. More places are beginning to incorporate different craft brews into their menu, while others built their entire establishment around serving beer they brewed themselves. Listed below are a few spots you can visit to join in on the craft beer craze.

1. Utility Brewing Company

Why you should go: All beer on tap is made in Downtown Ruston

Utility Brewing is home to Ruston’s only microbrewery. All of their beer is brewed in-house and made in limited batches. If you are someone who likes trying new things, then Utility is the place for you. Order a flight so you can try them all and find your favorite. Bring one (or all) of your favorites home in a 32 oz crowler so you can share it with your family or friends!

2. Rotolo’s Craft and Crust

With over 30 beers on tap, Rotolo’s Craft and Crust offers a great variety of craft beers for any type of beer connoisseur. Whether you prefer a crisp pilsner, a hazy IPA, a malty stout, or even a sour ale, you will undoubtedly be pleased by Rotolo’s hefty list of options.

Why you should go: One of Downtown Ruston’s oldest establishments

If you are looking to sit back, relax, and drink a craft beer with your friends, Sundown’s eclectic vibes provide the ideal spot to do so. Their outdoor patio is the perfect place to enjoy a cold beer on a warm evening. They serve an array of craft beer, some being on-tap while others are offered bottled.

4. Ponchatoulas

Why you should go: Louisiana cuisine and brews

This Cajun-inspired restaurant is a sure spot to find a large selection of brews by Abita Brewing Company, Louisiana’s largest and oldest craft brewery. The craft beers they offer pair perfectly with their Cajun cuisine. Ponchatoulas always has at least two craft brews on-tap, and a number of other bottled brews to choose from.
