For the month of October, we’re celebrating our local Ruston restaurants and the signature drinks and dishes that have made them must-visit dining spots. Each week, we’ll highlight a handful of signature menu items from local restaurants for each course – from drinks to dessert.
This week, we’re highlighting some of the most noteworthy appetizers in Ruston. These signature apps are sure to get your dining experience started off right. Dig into the deliciousness!
With so many savory appetizers on the menu, it’s hard to pick just one at Beau Vines. But we’re a bit partial to the filet delights - filet mignon, cream cheese, jalapeno, and cheddar wrapped in crispy bacon and finished with a honey pepper glaze. Need we say more?
How do you take cheese fries to the next level? Smother them in gravy, of course! Daq’s signature appetizer is one you don’t want to miss. Fresh battered fries + bacon + cheese + gravy = something magic. Wash them down with a cold draft beer for the full effect.
You read that right, fried avocado dippers. These perfectly fried avocado slices are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Served with chipotle ranch dipping sauce, they are a perfect starter and go great when paired with an ice-cold cerveza or lime margarita!
A Ruston staple, Log Cabin offers a little bit of everything. But the appetizer we just can’t get enough of is their signature BBQ dip. This melty blend of BBQ beans, chopped beef or pork, and cheese is then topped with sour cream, chives and bacon bits and served with tortilla chips. See why we keep coming back for more?
Still considered a hidden gem of Ruston, this new eatery offers their take on classic Asian dishes. While every item on the menu is worth trying, the gyoza has quickly become a favorite. You just may need two orders of these perfectly fried pork dumplings.
You may be asking yourself “should I really order fries as an app at a pizza joint?” The answer is yes, yes you should. These aren’t just any fries – these are thin-cut fries tossed in garlic butter, parmesan, and fresh basil then drizzled with truffle oil. We’ll just leave it at that.
Still hungry? Tune in next week for our Full Course Feature highlighting some of the most mouth-watering entreés in Ruston.
