Spend Your Summer on These Ruston Patios

July 30, 2020Written by: Tori Davis

Not only is patio time a luxury all southerners must indulge in, it also provides a safe culinary experience for those itching to enjoy local restaurants. Increased safety precautions including masks, limited contact, and socially-distant outdoor seating free you to soak up every moment of summer. With a variety of places to choose from, Ruston provides many outdoor and patio dining options for its hungry visitors and locals!

Sundown Tavern

This downtown landmark is a go-to spot for those who want to enjoy outdoor dining. Sundown’s large and breezy patio is downright charming with its fun and assorted décor that creates an eclectic atmosphere. The menu boasts southern favorites and their bartenders are skilled at mixing up a refreshing summer cocktail. An added bonus: Sundown’s spacious patio is pet friendly.

Utility Brewing

Another downtown patio dining favorite is Utility Brewing. Ruston’s local brewery offers more than just amazing craft beers. Enjoy homemade wood-fired pizzas and fresh salads, all of which incorporate local ingredients. Plenty of fans and umbrellas make their patio a great pick for summertime. Not to mention their fun and cozy atmosphere complete with string lights and a colorful mural.

Portico Bar & Grill

The menu features delicious southern staples with a twist, and their happy hour is one you do not want to miss. You can still catch live music on the Portico patio, with local musicians making weekly appearances.

Grown and Grazed

2.pngLocated in the heart of Downtown Ruston, this food truck has quickly become a local favorite for its breakfast items and burgers. Utilizing local ingredients, Grown and Grazed always has a special on the menu that’s packed with unique flavors. Take your meal to-go or enjoy it at one of the many picnic tables in the Heard Freighthouse Food Truck Park. There are plenty of umbrellas to provide shade in the warmer summer months.
