February 5, 2022Written by: Destinations Innovate Team

One thing is for sure. Ruston knows Romance. From budding crushes of our college community to sweethearts celebrating their 50th, many couples call Ruston their favorite Romantic escape. From delicious dining spots to ways to get creative together, next time you want to sweep them off their feet, try these 10 ideas to woo them.

Known for the historic downtown district, thriving arts culture, scenic outdoor attractions, and the incredibly sweet peaches grown, Ruston is full of small town charm perfect for you and your special someone.

Dinner at Beau Vines

Nothing says “let’s impress” like a great steakhouse. Beau Vines is the perfect place for a taste of the classic American steakhouse with a creole twist. Start with a delicious premium cut of steak paired with the perfect wine. You’ll also enjoy perusing their signature cocktail menu and checking out the impressive selection their mixologists have prepared including their S’mores Martini. And when asked about that dessert menu, definitely say yes.

Hand-Crafted Cocktails and Live Music at White Lightnin'

White Lightnin’ sneaks in a low-light romantic ambiance that sets the perfect mood for date night. Casual burgers are a big hit paired with their sexy craft cocktails. Stay for the live music if there’s an event as it’s the perfect date night combo.

Sunday Brunch at Trio's

Easy like Sunday morning, this Instagram-worthy brunch spot sets the stage for those love conversations about everything and nothing. Trio’s is known for their Mediterranean-inspired menu and gourmet specials, and is a great option for a date night out or drinks with friends. If the weather is nice, request seating on their quaint patio. But be sure to make reservations as Trio’s is a popular local brunch spot.

Take an Art Class at Ruston Artisans

Babe have a talent for the brush? Explore the inspiring art of local artisans and take in a themed painting class on a romantic date night at Ruston Artisans. This downtown studio is a great place to take in the work of local artists and exhibitions before or after your class. Strolling through a gallery on date night…we can’t think of anything more romantic.

Take In a Live Performance at Dixie Center for the Arts

Snuggle up when the lights get low and enjoy an always amazing performance at Dixie Center for the Arts. This historic and local cultural treasure holds popular seasonal productions, concerts, and events all year long. Be sure to check out the 22nd annual Krewe Allegro Mardi Gras Ball this Feb 19th!

Brick-Oven Pizza and Local Beer on Utility Brewing’s Charming Patio

After a stroll downtown or taking in a show next door at Dixie Center for the Arts, you’ll want to grab some brick-oven pizza at Ruston’s only microbrewery, Utility Brewing. Now that sounds like the perfect night out. What sets it over the top of the charming patio which can only be described as the perfect outdoor patio spot for lovers. We recommend trying their Ruston Home Pie. Scratch that. We recommend trying everything!

Browse the Ruston Farmers Market on Saturday Morning

Nothing feels more peaceful than getting ready with your person and heading to the farmers market. There are so many choices of fresh fruit, vegetables, locally sourced bath and beauty products, and local wares to take in, hand-in-hand at the Ruston Farmers Market. Grab a cup of complimentary coffee inside and enjoy live music on certain Saturdays of the month while you shop. And that, my friends, is the perfect way to kick off a romantic weekend ahead.
